Unveiling the Right Look |

In the moment that I decided on my dress, I knew I didn’t want the veil that they suggested, a ribbon edged number that made me feel like I had a triangle head (because the weight of the ribbon held the material very flat. So, I’ve been on the quest to figure out how long I want it. I’m thinking this:
My sister/MOH found an old 70′s veil pattern book at a fabric store and offered to make one for me. So now I just have to decide if I want beads, pearls, or edging.
We’re going for elegant. I want to take it off after the ceremony, so I also don’t want to spend a ton…it’s hard to justify a couple hundred dollars for a couple minutes. We’ll see how the project goes. I should have progress in a few months.
Yeah!

My Mom is also making my veil because I agree they are way too overpriced! I was wondering where you had found beads for the edging? My mom was looking for something already in a strand so she could just sew it on.

Hi Megan,
No, I haven’t really started looking for any of the edging, or tulle for that matter. I’ve seen some fabric stores with a good selection, but I’m thinking I might actually try a bead store. I’m lucky enough to work in the garment district in NYC, and my sister is near an enormous fabric store in KY, so I think we will have luck there.
Good luck to you!
