Wedding Shoes |
| January 12th, 2009 by Dahlia Bud |
In my normal every day life, I gaze lovingly at shoes of all colors. I love when Jcrew adds a new style. Give me heels, give me patterns, and give me comfort. Problem is, I’m way too practical to buy shoes that don’t go with either the brown or black parts of my wardrobe. We are brutal on shoes here in the city, and I cannot imagine spending $500+ on a pair of shoes that would have to walk over subway grates, intentionally miss cracks in the sidewalk, and stand up to my lack of really taking good care of anything.
When it came to finding wedding shoes, I knew I wanted different. Inspired by this:

And then finding and wanting these lovely numbers:

Christian Louboutin shoes
I found these…

Kate Spade Shoes
ON SALE! After Christmas Sale, here I come. They were still more than I wanted to spend, but have contributed some Christmas Cash to the fund and now feel that my feet will be taken care of. My something blue is now in my closet. They look great on my feet, make them look slim, and I won’t have to worry about a pedicure. It is love.
On a side note, has anyone noticed how bad some bridal shoes are. I went to a few bridal salons, with $4000 dresses, and shoes that were from 1990. I cannot imagine any are comfortable, and why are square chunky heeled shoes still being made?

I’m not sure what I’m doing about shoes yet. My bridesmaids are doing silver, and I might do the same. Or perhaps ivory to match my dress. I just have no idea yet - open toed, close toed, sling back or pump??? Al I know is that I don’t want to spend a lot of money because I’ll probably never wear them again. Unless, of course, they are as cute as yours and in a more wearable color like yours.

I love the shoes you’ve chosen! So fun! I’m looking for some wildly fun green shoes, but I need to keep them under 3″. Actually….my aisle will be outdoors on grass, so I might need a flat shoe…so much to think about!
