The Art of Juggling |

I am currently in graduate school while working full-time, among other things, so my life has become a delicate balancing act that requires plenty of juggling to keep up with everything.
And, of course, I am planning a wedding on top of everything else! I do the following things to help with juggling wedding planning with life:
- I use an organizational system that works for me. I am a fan of using an online calendar and leaving myself post-it notes, emails, and voicemail messages as reminders. (No two people are the same–I should know, I have an identical twin sister–so figure out what works for you)
- I make honesty the best policy with my wedding professionals. This means being upfront with vendors and letting them know the restrictions on my schedule and the best time/method to contact me from the start.
- I break large tasks into smaller segments. For example, when I needed to get the addresses of folks on my guest list, I only tackled a little at a time, like just my college friends or just Calla Lily Dude’s extended family.
- I invested in a bluetooth headset so I could multi-task. I can talk to my vendors easily hands-free while driving, doing DIY crafts, and otherwise keeping my life on track. I try not to waste time–unless it’s break time.
These strategies have become a way of life for me, and I think they are helping me from gong crazy. How are you managing the demands of wedding planning with your everyday life?
