Shall We Dance? |

I consider myself a pretty good dancer and I definitely enjoy getting my boogie on when the time is right. Plumeria Dude mainly dances when I drag him onto the dance floor, but he usually has a good time.

However, we are utterly clueless when it comes to partner dances. Sure, I love watching the awesome routines on So You Think You Can Dance every summer but I’ve got no real world skills in that area. Plumeria Dude and I have no plans to recreate any famous movie scenes, much as I love the trend.
I think it would stress us both out way too much, frankly. But we have taken steps to ensure we won’t be tripping all over each other either. The other day I booked us both for a ballroom dancing course geared for wedding dances. The price was pretty reasonable and I am looking forward to our antics.
If you’re interested in something similar, I suggest checking with local colleges and universities. Many offer dance classes that would work for bridal needs. I hope that at the end, we’ll be able to glide across the floor with ease.

Ack! Hydrangea dude not only has two left feet, he never inherited the “rhythm” gene. It was one of the hardest things to come to terms with while we were dating, since I have danced since I was 3 years old. I even tried out for Star Search with a dance team way back when! I have tried to teach him, even taking him to some fun Salsa lessons, but he hates it and gets all tripped up. He’s not a bad slow dancer, though, so I think we’ll just stick with the basic rocking back and forth moves. I think he’d freak out at anything else.

Hydrangea, I am hoping that the dance lessons won’t be too stressful for Plumeria Dude for similar reasons. I am surprised that he agreed to them, actually. Fingers crossed!
Mary, that’s not me in the video! I wish

Hi ladies! Periwinkle Dude has the same problem of the two left feet, but don’t tell him I told you, hahaha. I suggested group dance lessons a few months ago and to my surprise he agreed! We only took them for one month way back in September, and then got top busy but are starting up again tonight in fact! I have to say, it was so relaxing and really fun to spend time together as a couple while not discussing vendor choices or guest lists. Learning some dance steps was just an extra benefit!
Have fun dancing!!!

My hubby and I are both pretty natural on the dance floor. I actually had to practice dancing with my dad because he was so nervous about the father daughter dance! We just did the box step over and over and over because that was all he was comfortable with. It was so cute!

Funny thing is, Dahlia dude is a fantastic dancer, and has a beautiful singing voice, where I could fall down walking across the floor. I think I need lessons, but maybe he can just wing it, and lead me so I look like a wonderfully graceful person.
I also practiced dancing with my dad, and again, he’s much better than I am.
Sigh.
