Bride Wars! |

As I’ve already confessed, my name is Periwinkle Bud and I am a chick flick addict. But I’m not going into rehab anytime soon! Especially not with Bride Wars coming out in theatres TODAY, woohoo!!! In my movie opinion, the only thing better than a romantic comedy is a romance or comedy about a wedding! You know the kind… likely played by a Hollywood actress by the name of Julia, Jennifer, Kimberly, Reese or Drew. I know you’ve seen them, don’t be shy now!

Some of my favorites include:
Runaway Bride: FedEx truck anyone?!
The Wedding Singer: awesome 80s love story!
Monster-in-Law: Wanda Sykes is a riot in that one!
Father of the Bride: I could star in that movie I’ve seen it so many times!
The Wedding Planner: Bet it made you think twice before hiring one, just kidding!
Sweet Home Alabama: Always makes me wish I was a Southern gal with a knack for catching lightning!
I’ve always loved watching these movies, but get especially excited to see them since I’ve been engaged. Is it because our objective opinions go out the window once we assume title of bride-to-be? It’s possible… but I think the more likely explanation is that it’s fun to look at the similarities and differences between our lives and the story we’re watching. It could also be that these flicks help inspire ideas for our own nuptials – although I hope none of you are planning to utilize running sneakers to abruptly exit your wedding ceremony stage right.
In any event, I can’t wait to see Bride Wars with my MOH this Saturday for some much-needed R&R unwinding time. And so I leave you with this…
Anyone else planning on seeing the movie this weekend? What are some of your favorite wedding-related movies and why?

I’m not the chick flick type, but I can’t wait to see this movie with Poppy Dude! I’m watching boring football this weekend in exchange for a date night.

Not to be a downer, but I’m not going to see this! I’m just not signing up for degrading such a special experience for two people (kind of like the recent MTV wedding special where teens got married against the wishes of most people involved!?!? Why is this even on TV?). It just seems like the groom’s have no say or importance to the event.
I saw Rachel’s Wedding, and loved it. I thought the wedding was great and very respectful of all involved, even with family drama swirling around.
But, if you do go see it and it’s fabulous, please post!

You’re not a downer, Dahlia, everyone has her own opinion!
I do want to see Rachel’s Wedding, thanks for the tip on that one! I caught a few minutes of the awful MTV show on New Year’s Day and was absolutely horrified. I hear what you’re saying though about Bride Wars, and I’m definitely not expecting an award-winning story or even one remotely resembling real-life – I’m just out for a little guilty pleasure indulgence, but I’ll definitely report back.

Its show time again with two young ladies fighting with lot of anger though they are fighting we feel joy because it is the most important thing in their life. The big wedding at least one has to give up. With the two ladies around it is the biggest fight on the wedding date. It is a good lesson to any one who is thinking or even planning to get two weeding in one, never to do that when see this hilarious comedy movie called Bride Wars (2009). Just been released and I saw on http://www.80millionmoviesfree.com for girl I recommended to se this movie.
