Meet the BridalBuds: Poppy Blossom |

Hello world! I’m so excited to be a one of BridalBuds’ coveted Blossoms. I know poppies have a bad wrap, but as a California native, I just had to pick my state flower and represent the best state in the union!
I thought my first post should reveal something that really defines who I am, so here it is…I’m a klutz! Despite twenty years of dance, I am just plain awkward when it comes to real life. Luckily, I don’t take myself too seriously and try to enjoy my experiences, no matter how embarrassing they may be.
My hubby got a taste of my awkwardness on our first date where I had a HUGE piece of green sushi stuck in my front teeth the entire night. When I finally saw my reflection near the end of our date, I knew I had two options: I could pretend that it never happened even though I knew he knew and he knew I knew he knew, or I could just address it and move on.
The first option was too Three’s Company, and since I always seem to have something or other stuck in my teeth, I figured I should teach him early on to just tell me. Now, four years later, I have a subtle signal I give him so he can let me know if there is anything stuck in my teeth. Something that could have been an awkward relationship-ender turned into a silly inside quirk.
