Kitchen 101

wedding married life, martha stewart cookbook

After registering for all of this wonderful cookware and bakeware, what do you do with it all? Well, Martha Stewart to the rescue! Martha Stewart’s Cooking School: Lessons and Recipes for the Home Cook will definitely be a staple in my house. My husband thinks I should cook something new every night, but a.) I don’t have time, b.) I’m not that creative, and c.) I have no idea what I’m doing in the kitchen. I’m hoping, and so is my husband, that Martha can teach me a thing or two!

Do you have a favorite recipe you can share with this cook-in-training?

My mom bought this book for me for Christmas and will not stop talking about it! I feel like I already know everything that is in it because she has practically read the entire thing to me over the phone! However, it sounds very helpful and I can certainly use some guidance in the kitchen.

I have a recipe to share. It’s quick and easy, no mess to clean up, low in calories and my fiance LOVED it:)

    You will need:
2-4 boneless chicken breasts (or how ever many you and your hubby are hungry for)
    Salsa
    taco seasoning
    Mexican cheese
red or golden potatoes ( one little potato for every chicken breast)
    Tin foil

Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees
cut out tin foil (a peice for ever chicken breast)
cut potatoes into thin slices (almost like potato chips)
place each potatoe’s slices one the foil spreading it out so it’s like a plate for the chicken
put taco seasoning and chicken in to a large zip lock bag and shake
Place chicken on top of the potatoes
Pour salsa on top of the chicken (how ever much you would like)
    sprinkle cheese on top
fold up the foil around the chicken completely so no air can get in
place the foiled chicken on to a baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes
take out of oven and it’s ready!!!
you can also put some sour cream on top afterwards if you like.

    I hope you like it:)
